Boomtown on 200g vinyl - eyes and ears comparison

Received a vinyl edition of Boomtown today - it is the 2003 release on 200g vinyl (very thick and heavy). I'm not sure if this was remastered for this release - but initial tests are promising that the vinyl edition (at least this one) has a wider dynamic range. Here are two screen shots - the first one is River's Gonna Rise from the CD and the second is from the vinyl - CD -

And here are the two tracks - albeit now compressed for MP3 - but still audibly different.
Thoughts? I have the regular ol' vinyl release as well - maybe I'll give that one a spin and see what that one looks/sounds like compared to these. I think this vinyl version has more separation in the instruments especially the hi-hat/cymbal sound that just comes right out.
