Hate PRS...always have. They look great, but (at least in my hands) don't play terribly well, and I don't like the sound at all.
If you don't mind the heavy tail-weighting on a Les Paul, I can see why they're popular, but again I never liked the feel.
But...I would love to hear what you think about the Jaco Bass. I play a Fender JP-50 which is a freak combo/P bass with a Jazz Bass combination (Fender only made 'em for a few years, then scrapped the project). I've always wanted a Jaco..which is basically a '62 Fender Jazz Bass with the frets yanked out. But...can you really play fretless? If so...you must really be a hoss on the Bass, 'cause unless you know the neck blindfolded, the intonation is very tricky, I've found. My dream was to pick up a fretless, but every time I tried it, it was pretty hopeless for me. As a confused mortal, I need FRETS...I think they have '62 style remakes that don't cost a fortune.
Happy Jaco,
Geeno
