I wholeheartedly agree with you Rogertick. We all bring something different to the table. On the few occasions when the self labeled "conservative" bunch bid adieu (or worse - threatened to bid adieu) - they usually argued that the discourse on the board would turn stale because of the lack of a counter point. I think there are so many things that make us different (unique!) and our political views (which is what they were referring to) are such a small part of it. What I'm trying to say in a twisted way is that good and lively discussion is not and should not be predicated solely on opposing political viewpoints. I don't think it is - and that's why I think everything will be fine around here.

I just re-read my post - and I just wanted to be clear that I think differing viewpoints are the spice of life (or one of them anyway) - be it differing political viewpoints or disagreements over the legitimacy of the designated hitter rule.
