well, i originally assumed dan knew that "a long december" is one of the brilliant songs from Recovering the Satellites, which is the 2nd counting crows album. along with "goodnight, elizabeth" and "recovering the satellites"... "angels of the silences" is the only other one i remember from that album.This Desert Life is the 3rd album, with "colorblind" as well as the brilliant "mrs. potter's lullaby" and "st. robinson and his cadillac dream."i've considered writing off adam duritz's band ever since August and Everything After, the hard-to-follow 1st album, but i haven't managed it yet. parts of the 4th album, Hard Candy really do it for me... like the song "richard manuel is dead."i've got the 2-cd Live Across a Wire, which is good, though i can't remember preferring any of the reworkings to the originals.and i don't have anything else. maybe i should get some, though.
