He got it.  I mean WTF??  My brother is really into that type of music quite a bit, and I heard Pantera when he played their debut CD for me many years ago.  He thinks it may have something to do with certain people who may get caught up in the violent, explosive nature of that type of musical genre.  He wrote me this today, and it does make some sense:

  I tell you, as much as I love punk and metal and so on, the anger/violence titer has simply grown to this monsterous proportion of psychotic.  It's really a scary, scary thing.
