There was a shooting here in Seattle a couple of weeks ago that got some national press. A lone gunman got through the security door at the Jewish Federation in Downtown Seattle and shot up the place, killing one woman and wounding a half dozen others.
It seems like such an everyday event these days that it doesn't really get much press unless it's really spectacular and a lot of people get killed.
Raymond Chandler, years ago, put these words in Humphrey Bogart's mouth in "The Big Sleep":
"My, my, my, such a lot of guns around town and so few brains."
Chandler had no idea....
