So I was hosting a big collegiate disc golf tournament on a beautiful ski hill in central Wisconsin on Sunday. The tourney wrapped up and I was running the award ceremony, when I noticed the second place winner in the women's division was crying. I didn't really think too much about it - it had been a long hot weekend and a lot of people were completely worn out.

Later I see her again, and she is still sobbing. I go over and talk to her and we hug, and then she tells me what happened. I was absolutely stunned to hear her tell me how all of her best friends just got killed by another childhood friend. If she hadn't come to the tournament, she would have been back home in Crandon, attending a house party no doubt.
