>I note that none of the popular textbooks on economics is written by anyone from the Austrian school. (Ludwig Von Mises, etc.) I do wonder about the degree to which we've handicapped our national understanding by teaching economics for so long in such a blindfolded way. I mean, Joseph Stiglitz? Is this the cat we want writing our economics texts?I note that none of the popular textbooks on economics is written by anyone from the Austrian school. Is this the cat we want writing our economics texts?-------------------No, I mean that its a subject that mostly isn't taught at all now. There are enormous percentages of people who aren't exposed to economics OR money management basic prior to being turned loose on our world. And their ignorance affects everyone in the country and many outside it as well.In what way do you mean blindfolded? I'm not familiar with teh Stiglitz (or am not remembering).
