If it were only that simple. But we are left with a choice between Obama and McCain, and despite McCain's years, he doesn't really have any more experience as an executive than does Obama.

So we are left with track record and campaign platform/issues. I can understand why any fiscal conservative would be wary of Obama.

But McCain keeps creeping closer to the Bush wing of the Republican Party, and I don't think anyone can make a factual case for that being a good thing. Care to try?

I thought that if McCain won, there would be a good chance that he would promote more professional and qualified people into key government posts. The way that Bush/Rove/Cheney rewarded loyal footsoldiers over competent footsoldiers might have been the single worst part of the last eight years.

McCain's selection of Palin makes me doubt even this.

In short, I think questions about Obama's experience are fair, but I'm not sure any doubts rise to the level of pain that will drive the "vote'em out" backlash against the Republicans.
