Shelby Lynn was on the radio program E-town last week. Very impressive performer, and seemingly even has a brain.
Heard a little Nora Jones and will try to catch some more (especially since she attended my alma mater). Kind of tired of the djs plugging the fact that she's only 22 years old. Shemekia Copeland also is, but she started touring with her dad (the great Johnny Copeland) at 16, and has two excellent albums out.
Not sure what to make of John Mayer yet. Caught one of his videos just last night, and the crowd shots in it looked incredibly HueyLewisish. Definitely hasn't suffered enough - his lament is "I can't wait for my ten-year reunion"? He better start riding the horse or by 2012 his only cameo will be in a one-hit wonder special.
