Icon Kent - I'm with you...!

What a great thread - some excellent insights from all concerned, but Kent has hit the nail on the head for me, right down to the artists he mentioned. I loved "The Cars" - agree that the earlier stuff was the best - and followed up with solo stuff from both Ocasek (the bizarre genius) and Orr (the smooth one...). Peter T. informed me of Benjamin Orr's untimely death, and I really felt the passing of my youth...melodramatic, I know. Listening to a lot of older music, it's amazing how many talented people we've lost...

"Comfortably Numb" and a few other PF classics get me tingling. We watched a TV programme the other night about "Dark Side of the Moon" - very interesting listening to how each track came about - made me get the album out again for another flogging...

Good guitar playing gets me going every time - Mark Knopfler through to Robert Cray, Robben Ford, Gary Moore and Jeff Healey (incidentally, the best concert I've ever seen).
