On another note, could you elaborate a bit on your "Protocols Of The Wise Men Of Zion" statement? Just curious what significance that plays. Disregarding the fear of sounding ignorant, I have never heard of it.

The "Protocols Of The Wise Men Of Zion" is the most infamous piece of propaganda ever written. It was a piece written by a French author that had nothing to do with the Jews and if I remember correctly was actually intended as farce.

It was changed by the Russians to be distributed as propaganda to show that the Jews were to be feared and hated...that was the goal...so that they might garner support for doing nasty things to them. Later Hitler and his gang would pick-up on it and use it to the same end. The content basically detailed an evil plot by the Jews to "take over the world"...insert evil laugh here...which is why I was comparing that memo to it.  It was all nonsense of course but you know the history of tragedy that it begat.

Many people including Henry Ford (yes that Henry Ford of automobile fame) refused to believe it wasn't true. Even though it had been proven many times over that it was all utter bullshit. When no one would publish it in the United States Ford published it and distributed it himself. Ford you see was quite a supporter of Adolf and his work. He would later apologize for this rather giant mistake and halted publication and distribution. I don't recall what finally convinced him it was false.

Anyway, the reason I refer to it is because I believe that if Hitler and the Russians could do that much damage with a piece of propaganda back then...when the flow of information was infinatly slower than our blick of an eye technocyberinfosuperhighway of today...well then think what they could do now. You can in fact manufacture support for a war in a single day. Maybe in a single hour. You can destroy a reputation, demonize a person or people, cause the stock market to crash...all in the blink of an eye. We have the ultimate distribution tools working 24/7 and 365.

Even if you're only spreading lies it matters little because you can do your damage so fast...and people's opinions well...once you tell them something...like ol' Henry Ford...if they like what they hear they may just like to stick with that story because it suits them better. Even if you tell them it's a lie. I just think in the times we're living in you have to be careful because there's more propaganda now than ever before and they do it better than ever before. And people...well...they're just so eager to believe...even more so if it's what they want to hear. People make a living at it these days too. They give them tv shows and radio shows and sponsers who like it pay to advertise. Propaganda is big business and I think we're losing the ability to know it when we see it.
