Icon Any Film Makers Out There?

OK...this will be the last of my self promoting posts for today...but I can't say I won't be back at it tomorrow.

I have a script and a series of storyboards for a Short Film that my wife and I wrote together.  I'd just like some advice on a few issues.

1. Copyright Process:  Before I reveal any of it, I'd just like to find out how to make the idea "mine" before I start bringing folks in from the outside.

2. My Script has very little dialogue.  It's mostly visual, physical comedy and sight gags.  It's certainly simple and basic...and of course...extremely silly. How do I re-write my ideas in a way that "real film people" would be able to understand what I want the screen to reveal? Any online examples?

3.  Has anyone ever sent anyone a script once it's been completed?  Do you try to sell it or just send it out and hope someone bites?

4. Are there any companies that specialize in short film? I'm so ignorant of the ART of film as I usually just rent what looks intriguing.

I'm just getting to this point in my life where i'd like to try to do stuff.  It's just a dumb little 10 minute thing. But if I can put what's in my head onto the screen in a darkened theater...it might bring about a smile or two.
