The reason I asked this question is because if such a story is true, it is very shameful indeed and needs more coverage and vetting and I am biased when it comes to the current administration in Washington.

I have seen this story reported in the NY Times, Washington Post, Michael Moore's book and the New Yorker Magazine (which by the way, has had some excellent reporting on Iraqi issues the last year).

And if these stories are true, it surprises me a great that more Americans are not outraged and demanding answers over this story, or if it is like one poster suggested, that this was lost in the shuffle because of the 9/11 following turmoil.

I would also like to hear from our resident right wingers on this issue, who might be able to offer a different perspective.
