I personally couldn't consider Radiohead to be progressive rock...progressive...yes...but no mention of Gandalf in any of their songs suggests that they have no inclination to smell the glove. Dale being the overlord of Prog hereabouts would give a more informed view of the status of Radio'ead.
On the other stuff...bloody hell! I reckon they must take some of this stuff from the Sci-Fi books they read as kids...? It sounds like a cross between something from the Dark Tower and the Tibetan Book of the Dead. The future looks...samsaric and full of esoteric nightmares. The only way to overcome that shit will be to develop the higher parts of the brain through meditation...all together now Gene....OhMMMMMMMm.........I'm surprised Kent hasn't thrown some other stuff into the mix.
