Our congressional leaders are complete cowards. At this particular point, the entire Iraqi War debate has been pure politics. If not, and if our congressional leaders had integrity and honor, each of them would have demanded of the president to delay this vote until after the November elections. Of course the republican congressional members would not take the bold step to do
such a thing, but the lousy democrats should have. But since the democrats were cowards as well, all of them should have asked "Why now" in all of their speeches. But they couldn't even do that.Sadly, the most important point of the politicization of this debate has been missed and for the republicans AND democrats not to illustrate this point to the public is shameful and unforgivable. The point I am talking about is our fellow Americans will likely be sent to war to fight for America and our political "leaders" held a debate in such a manner that truthful and sincere debate could not be properly done.If our asshole of a president had true leadership abilities and truly gave a shit about our fellow Americans in uniform he would have pressed for this debate to take place AFTER the fall elections. How it was done only allowed all of the chickenshit politicians to fall behind their fear of not being re-elected, than what really mattered - our fellow Americans and their lives. All
of you, go back and listen, really listen, to DB's song "Stranger" on Bedtime Stories. It is a testament of what our leaders have not done for our fighting people. The least, yes, least, they could have done was have honest debate after the elections. And for all of you out there who feel what this miserable president did was right, switch the parties around and honestly ask yourselves how you would feel if Clinton had done the same thing. And if you can't be honest with yourselves, recall what the right said when Clinton last sent missiles to Baghdad. If you can't remember, the right claimed back then he only did it to boost his favorable ratings.Bush has only done this to win both houses of Congress - otherwise he would have taken the honorable way out and pushed to have this vote after the fall elections where honest debate could have occurred. Instead pansy coward politicians hid and hid well. This bastard makes me sick. Thanks for listening and participating in all of this great debate.EEE
