Here's a bit I found about Mel's dad from a Frank Rich story:

 Hutton Gibson said there was "no systematic extermination" of the Jews by Hitler, only "a deal where he was supposed to make it rough on them so they would all get out and migrate to Israel because they needed people there to fight the Arabs. . . ."

If Frank Rich is quoting correctly, Hutton Gibson is indeed a nut. I mean, "no systematic extermination" of the Jews by Hitler?

Now I don't believe in collective Gibsonian guilt. Mel is not responsible for his dad's ravings. He is responsible for an even more heinous crime: the Lethal Weapon series!
