Okay, given that we are really letting it all hang out, the issue of "Less versus Fewer" has been much on my mind. Henceforth, let's observe the following the rules:

Less versus Fewer.

Less means "not as much"; fewer means "not as many." Trust your ear: if you'd use "much," use "less"; if you'd use "many," use "fewer." You earn less money by selling fewer products; you use less oil but eat fewer fries. If you can count them, use fewer.

And I won't even go near the whole "Bring versus Take" issue. I've seen grown men tear their own heads off rather than confront it! And of course "Among versus Between" could devastate this board! Let's not go there! It make the recent Kent versus Gene issue seem like a floral arrangment seminar. And then of course there is the misuse of "I couldn't care less." And frankly, you couldn't care less so enough of this nonsense, Peter T!
