Anyone catch the R&R HoF induction last night on VH1? I watched most of it. First up - Prince is the shit on guitar. I think it gets forgotten behind all the lace and goofy symbols. In his induction bit, he rocked out...but it was during the George Harrison tribute (with Tom Petty, Jeff Lyne, Dhani Harrison, and others) that Prince just went nuts. Nuts! It was almost too much..as it was a tribute to George and not a showcase for Prince's guitar licks...but still. Nuts. Also - I've been a Bob Seger fan since I can remember. My brother (besides introducing me to D+D) was/is a huge Seger fan. So I grew up listening to him. His induction set was decent...but age is surely creeping up on him. I also remember reading something a while back about a throat condition he had...so maybe that's why his voice didn't sound great...you could tell he was holding back. But getting back to my subject line. Keith inducted ZZ Top...and his intro speech was so disjointed and weird. He acts like that kid in college who's experiencing his first drunk. Except with wrinkles. It's sad. So...did anyone catch the show - have any thoughts on it. Or is the whole HoF thing a bunch of bunk?
