That's about this gist of your argument Pat.  I agree with you that running "scare" type campaign commercials is wrong - but please don't single out the wheelchair commercial as the only one of its type.  Here in the Old Dominion some Senator (R) is running an ad where he touts his desire for a prescription drug plan....what a bunch of shite.  There will be no presc drug plan until the entire health care system gets overhauled and that SURELY won't happen while a republican is in office.  Hell...it'll probably never happen whomever's in office.  It's a commercial for a product - in this case a person running for office.  Both sides use scares and half truths.

The only plan the Dems will support for Health Care is the one THEY have control over an for good reason. Lets add to the already growing number of people dependent on them. How do you think they got 94% of the black vote. Introduce socical programs and do whatever is necessary to keep them in place.It's a downward spriral. The only reform that would work would be to put health care back into the hands of the patient and out of the hands of either the goverment or the health care managers. Give people a tax incentive and I'm sure that we would start to see reform.
Other than the war if you count the impending war on Iraq as a scare I dont consistently see the Repubs using scare tactics on a certain class of people. The Dems dont run on a platform because they dont have one. Do they have a solution for solving the economy. Hell no but they wont support anything the Repubs thow out. They just want to blame Bush for it. For one I would like to see an agenda from them on anything.....anything. Show me what you are for not what you are against and for god sake quit scaring the old people unecessarily.
