In November 2002, the BBC's own Indiana Jones (architectural historian Dan Cruickshank) was given unprecedented access to travel throughout Iraq in search of a history and a culture that, at the time, seemed likely to fall casualty to the imminent war against Saddam Hussein. His journey takes him from the Kurdish border in the North to the Garden of Eden in the South, stopping off at Nineveh, Babylon and the Tower of Babel.
