So what you're saying is that for years you've believed that Saddam had to be taken out? Were you upset when Bush did not make that one of his campaign promises when he ran in 2000? When you saw what was going on, on 9/11, was your first thought "This may not have happened if we had taken out Saddam."?

I'm just curious because despite Saddam being the Butcher of Bagdad for some 20 years prior, I just don't recall any great outcry from the Right that we had to go take him out. We had him in 1991 and we pulled back. I do remember a public outcry then that we should finish the job but that went nowhere. Would you say that was the biggest case of a president dropping the ball in the history of our country? He had him right where he wanted him, the public, right and left, were behind the idea of taking out Saddam...the world was behind us...and we bailed.

Just trying to find where you're coming from on this GA. I do think it's sad that this war with Iraq has been turned into a partisan issue...it shouldn't be but it sure as hell is getting used that way by both sides. I believe there's a lot of dishonesty that surrounds this mess and it needs to be talked about...at least by us...the voters...in a more honest way. Can you see where I'm coming from?
