Firstly, who are you calling "girl"?
Secondly; if you took the time to read my entire post you would see the point I was trying to make was this guy is not going to leave this prison unless he's carried out in a box. Why does he of ALL prisoners in a band, deserve to be put in the spotlight of national tv. At no point in my post did I ever advocate the death penalty. Just so you know, I too am opposed to the death penalty. Death is too easy. For those people who commit the most heinous of crimes, they should have their remaining days on earth made to be the most miserable experience possible. Timothy McVeigh may now be considered a martyr; like all those other dead terrorists. Instead of killing him he should've been sent to Alaska and been made to shovel elk shit until the day he died.
Let's go on...
"Locking someone up without the possibility of parole protects society.." I agree.
"...and is more cost effective than putting them to death." I disagree. Dead people require little food or attention.
"We treat prisoners like dogs, deny them even the slightest outlet for creativity." I disagree. This guy slaughtered two girls for no reason and now he's in a band fully equipped with instruments, amps etc. and he's about to be on VH1. My dog should have it so bad....
"This warden should be commended for enacting this program." So if this guy killed someone in your family and you tuned in to VH1 and saw him playing in a band having a gay ol' time that would be ok with you?
"Would you be this outraged if it were 60 Minutes covering the same story?" No, because 60 Minutes would show how ridiculous our penal system has become.
It does need to be overhauled. It's more of a country club than a prison. Richard Speck also had it real tough while he was in prison. He was able to do women and drugs before he died. Poor bastard.
