Icon Some movie talk...

I know we have some movie fans here...

I did a while back recommend a movie called "Northfork" which got no response...I figure either nobody watched it or they did and found it a drag. Anyway, I enjoyed it.

Recently saw "21 Grams" and I thought that was pretty good. Although, I'm sure some would find it very depressing. I enjoyed it for the acting Penn, Del Toro, and Watts were a pretty potent trio. I kind of thought Penn had already done this film as a director...with "The Crossing Guard"...and done it better I might add. "21 Grams" works the same territory but burdens all the characters with even more baggage. Plus the director tells the story in a way that I would say is supposed to add more poetry. In this case I liked Sean's approach better.

The last film I'll throw in here is an older film from the late 70's called "The Ninth Configuration." I had made my brother watch this film when we were kids. We both loved the movie. He gave it to me on DVD about a week ago. I didn't know it was on DVD and was suprised when he gave it to me. First thing I'll say is the cover photo on the DVD is hands down the best cover of any DVD I've ever seen. The film itself is a classic. Why it is not considered one is beyond me. I think it just never found it's audience. If you were making a list of the best films of the 70's this one has to be on the list. I won't say much about it because if you haven't seen this you don't deserve to have it ruined by my blabbing about it. It does have some of the best dialogue ever and you will likely quote this film forever after watching it. Here's a photo of the cover:
