I dunno, Reg. I seem to recall that Clinton appeared with Bill Richardson and somebody else before the committee. I could be wrong.
Yea, those are some good questions but I don't put a whole lot of weight in the speculation of the movements of A1 on 9/11. I'm sure it was chaotic at best. It's very easy to second guess them. Shutting down the ATC system was key. I did observe as A1 descended into Offutt AFB and I believe there was an escort plane with it. It may well have taken off without one and they later rendezvoused. I don't see that as being important either.
The writer goes on to ask "Was Air Force One's code ever breached on September 11?" I'm not sure what he's getting at. I know it was handled in a different way than we usually handle it but his 'code' was never breached.
Why would it have been important for the president to return immediately to Washington? I'm not sure what this writer is getting at. Seems to me that with communications what they are today he could've operated out of a Motel 6 and accomplished the necessary stuff.
I wonder...does this writer have any questions for Clinton to answer or is he not interested in the facts leading up to the events?
