Icon Abuse of Iraqi Prisoners...

Frankly, I am not suprised it has happened one bit.  For the past few years we have been told that the Iraqis are less than human.  We have been led to believe by the Bush Adminstration that Iraq has been behind 9/11 and every other little terrible thing.  So really, in our terrible human race, what is really to be expected?  This should really not be a surprise in my opinion.

Though I do find it a bit ironic that instead of human rights abuses by Hussein being a huge selling point for Bush's war, it seems our human rights abuses are going to undermine it.  The terrible thing is that our young men and women on the front lines are going to be the ones who continue to pay for these abuses.

I also implore people to pick up Chris Hedges' "War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning."  This is an excellant book that details about all facets of war.
