Anyone out there using any of the Roland family of guitar Synths ?

I have a GR-30 and a Rocktron Replitone amp. I have never run the GR-30 thru the effects loop and I was wondering if anyone else has tried this. I admit I am a bit "effects loop" ignorant. The built in effects of the amp and the synth effects don't really get along so I was figuring to by-pass the pre-amp.
