Thanks for the lead, Kathryn. I had a friend in elementary school whose brother was adopted. Her parents adopted him because they thought they would never be able to have children, and then, voila, a year after he was adopted my friend arrived. I never realized that there was any sort of stigma about parents adopting kids and he was adopted back in 1952. But then I was a kid myself and he was her brother, no ifs ands or buts.
