We have so many fine clubs here in the Maryland/Virginia area, and most are entirely smoke free...sweat free also.   I am surely spoiled.  Many serve drinks including microbrews and decent food.  One of my favs is the Ram's Head in Annapolis, MD.  It must be one of the most fabulous venues in the nation.  So many great acts play there.  For more folkie or bluegrass offerings, the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA is the place. And there are tons of rock clubs and small theatres for shows.   Too many to count.  If I had the time, money, and didn't mind driving, I could see a different show featuring a great band or performer every night of the week.   I haven't been to an "arena" , cattle-herd style concert in many years...thankfully.   Haven't been interested in the types of performers who play large venues since I was in college.  Especially the Eagles.
