The other night while waiting with our friends to get in to see Fahrenheit 911 my wife got into a lively discussion with a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party who was trolling the line for converts. The comrade maintained that the system is so corrupt that nothing short of revolution will make things better. She seemed to share a lot of the views that David Icke states in the piece you posted Kent. You know, "Michael Moore is only interested in hyping himself", "he left a lot of shit out of the movie", "blah, blah, blah". A couple of writers on the Counterpunch website took him to task for many of the same reasons. I assume since you bothered to post the Icke article Kent, you must share some of the same thoughts.
This sort of ideological purity is one of the reasons the progressive movement in this country has let the right wing roll all over us. It's a hallmark of ideologues from Mao to Hitler to Stalin to Pat Fucking Robertson that everybody has to pass a litmus test to determine if they're good enough to represent the movement.
So here we are. Michael Moore has a mega-hit movie on his hands; the biggest two- day take for a documentary in US history. The most in your face, widespread, watched public taking to task of the Bush Administration since the whole goddam fiasco started and Icke and Counterpunch and a bunch of snooty, snotty, conspiracy theorists and left wing ideologues are upset because he left their pet theory out of a two hour film!
Never mind that he's single-handedly got the right wing sweating bullets, galvanized the opposition, and exposed more Americans to the farce this government has perpetrated for the past three and a half years. In case you haven't noticed the debate is raging. Turn on your favorite right wing talk show host and all you hear are attacks on MM. Do you really think a Kerry presidency would be as damaging as four more years of this?
In the article you posted David Icke writes : " (Moore's film) reveals that Bush is a lazy, incompetent fool; that the bombing of Iraq caused horrific civilian casualties; that US troops are being killed and maimed to defend an invasion justified by a Big Lie; that the parents of those civilians and troops suffer unspeakable emotional trauma from losing their loved ones; that Bush was scammed into power at the last election; that the Bush family has serious connections to the Bin Laden family and the Saudi royals; and that the corporate cartels make fortunes both from supplying the weapons to destroy cities and infrastructure and then by 're-building' the devastated countries and seizing control of their resources, like oil."
So what's the fucking problem? Sounds like a pretty good job to me. And much more than you, me, or David Icke are likely to contribute to the end of the rule of these white collar criminals running our country. As they say, "Mission Accomplished!"
