From a strictly financial perspective, I believe we are looking at a minimum cost for the war in Iraq of $200 billion. On the high-end, who knows, $300-$400 billion, higher? For $200 billion, the government could provide universal health care to all Americans for about 3 years. I doubt very much that the average American thinks of the opportunity costs of the war in these terms.
