Eric, there are soo many discs that enter my collection with very little fanfair and repeat play in the early weeks, months of ownership. There are some discs that I forget and later discover that they are just plain bloody brilliant! Recently I purchased Sam Phillips latest,"A Boot and a Shoe". I did sing it's praises here on the board a few months back. Every time I listen to it, I further realize just how much I am in love with the record. Another disc is "Hope and Fears" by Keane. I purchased this disc after hearing a track on a Paste magazine CD sampler. I did not care for the record as a whole, and almost traded it in, numerous times, but now I'm feeling the gentle pop songs much moreand can fully understand why it topped the charts in the UK for nearly a month. I hated Peter Gabriel's "US" when it was first released. Many months later, I went through a very painfull break-up and the disc just about saved my life. Damien Rice's "O" was purchased from his website and basically sat on my CD shelf for over a month, till I grew into it. Finally, I believe that I listed Rufus Wainwright's "Want One" in my Top Ten of last year's list. I should have gave it #1. In fact, I think "Want One" is one of the best Pop/Rock CD's  of  21st centur(four/five years into ). This record is right up there with Cohen, Newman and Walker's best. His voice is the only weakness to his records and for god's sake, I hope more people can get past that voice and realize what a trully gifted, talented artist he is and what a fecking masterpiece he has made.

Cheers, KevinfromAZ
