"So if theatrics is your bag, but honesty is not..."
You didn't hear a word I just said.
"O'Lielly has been ducking MediaMatters.org like crazy."
I never knew that and I would tend to doubt it. But if you can give us a link to verify this I'd like to read it. Speaking of ducking, I wonder why Al Franken, Howard Dean, Jesse Jackson or Bill or Hillary Clinton duck O'Reilly's show? Terry McAuliffe went on a few weeks ago and did a fine job. Al Sharpton is a regular. He has no problem. Neither does Robert Reich. I guess some people don't want to be asked tough questions.
"...then a clip is put together of him telling three or four people to shut up. "
One of those people was a gay man who was "outing" gay Congressmen and women. O'Reilly said to the man; "You should really shut up about your private sex life and the sex lives of others. It's really no one's business." The comment was rather unemotional and "matter of fact" in tone; completely unconfrontational. Outfoxed cut everything he said after the "shut up." Do you think that was fair or accurate?
"mediamatters.org, the media critique magazine Extra!, the DailyHowler, SpinSanity..."
If these organizations were the bastions of integrity and had no political agenda then I would listen to them. Unfortunately they are not. Anyone who believes they are is simply their "choir".
Enjoy the music, Eric.
