Points well taken, Andrea.  I think it is very disappointing that once again, the election choices are going to boil down to picking what I see as the lesser of two evils, truly.  When I lived in Canada, we were lucky to have an effective 3rd party choices a time or two, and that really gave the people more power.  Often there were enough 3rd party seats in Parliament to really have the 3rd party actually call the shots when it came to new bills being introduced by the majority party.  The downside is that sometimes nothing got passed that way.
