I think all of the SBV worked very closely with one another. They didn't have to be on the same boat to be able to say they worked with Kerry. The boats worked together in their patrols...they weren't out there on their own.
I think one thing you also have to consider is that many of the men who served directly with Kerry may have found it more glamorous to go along with Kerry's version of the events rather than give their families the unflattering version of what really happened in some instances. Are they about to go back on what they've said all these years? Doubtful. If you were the guy being pulled out of the water by Kerry, don't you think it would sound much more exciting to talk about all the enemy gunfire that was associated with the rescue rather than a vanilla version which made no mention of it? These are some things to think about and that's why I'm not ready to embrace Kerry's version of what happened. Not when there are so many others who tell a far different story.
