Bush seemed tentative and uncertain, with a pleading undercurrent to his tone (please don't fire me, please don't fire me...). a lot of the things he said had little grounding in current reality and seemed optomistic to the point of wishful. additionally, he stammered a lot and looked lost much of the time, and towards the end he looked like a guy who was more than ready for it to be over. for my money, a very bad showing for George.
Kerry was concise and knowledgeable, and clearly had a better grasp of the complexities of the world. i'm not a big Kerry fan but he impressed me a bit there. not that the competition was very stiff, but i thought he wiped up the floor with l'il Shrub.
