but Herr Ashcroft, my feverish stockpiling of lawyers, guns, money and explosives is only a constitutionally-protected (remember that silly little scrap of paper?) hobby. i don't think i actually plan to blow up all federal buildings and snipe at law enforcement vehicles from overpasses; this would happen only in the event that i feel the least bit threatened. however, under your administration's pre-emptive strike policy, i have been assured that such actions would be well within the bounds of current law. i'm somewhat certain that it couldn't possibly come to that.
