Well Paul, I'm in the provisional club. My wife nearly tore them apart when we went to vote she was so angry. They have no explanation for how it happened but my wife was on the roll and I was not. I had been removed so I had to go to the town clerks office fill out forms, sign a provisional ballot list and fill out my ballot there in the clerks office. Then I was told to put it in a white envelope and they dropped it in a card board box. As I filled out my ballot 10 to 12 more people arrived, hopping mad, that were in the same boat as me. One woman screaming at the top of her lungs that she'd been getting the run around and had been sent back to the town she had lived in the year before.

It only got better from there, one of the women working in the clerks office turned and said softly to the other "Are we even counting these provisional ballots?" to which the other replied "Only if it's close. We have three days to decide if we want to report them."

I only overheard this because I was in the corner close to them sitting behind a big cardboard box. I stood up surprising them and said "You had better record those votes and I heard what you just said."

My wife is still furious and is going to file written complaint. I've never had this happen to me before.

It doesn't matter much in terms of Kerry vs Bush because Kerry will take Massachusetts but I want all of my votes on that ballot counted.
