I can't believe this - three times - and in a week or so!
I was going to post something about how Mellencamp's growth from his cd Scarecrow to that of Lonesome Jubilee and Big Daddy was amazing. I remember popping in Lonesome Jubilee and was surprised at the addition of violins, banjos, dobroes and other bandmembers and was blown away.
Don't know which cds you have Pat, but if you like roots music, I'd strongly suggest Mellencamp's Trouble No More cd and of course Lonesome Jubilee and Big Daddy (though be forwarned, there is an anti-Reagan song on Big Daddy named Country Gentleman - though it doesn't name him by name).
Also, the song Big Daddy Of Them All is one of his best - it's about his uncle and how he was a prick all his life until at the end he became sick and realized he'd been a prick all his life and then started to change. (I believe I read some where that in the movie Falling From Grace w/Mellencamp, the character played by Claud Akins and Mellencamp's father in the movie was based on his uncle - not completely certain).
Now Pat, if you type you are looking forward to Jackson Browne's next cd, I'm really going to be shocked!
