Hi Don Pedro,
You make some very valid comments about America - & as an Australian who has lived in the states for 8 years and been educated there, driven across half of the country, I can see where you are coming from. But I feel there are two sides to every story....
Yes the education system is a little behind. On arrival in America, I was placed 3 to 4 grades below where I was academically simply because of my age - but in Australia we start school much earlier than in America. Perhaps it might be a similar case in Denmark? Maybe that's why you found the schooling "a walk in the park".
Also pretend you were never given the wonderful opportunity of living in Michigan (great state!) - you would still know more about America than say America knows about Denmark simply because America is such a huge exporter.
I bet you like me, wear Levis, eat Big Mac's, guzzle Coke, and watch The Simpsons - and you even know who David Baerwald is!!
If my country or yours exported to America even half of what they export to us, then perhaps they too would be a little more familar with our countries.
For us it's taken exports like Paul Hogan/Fosters Beer, The America's Cup, Elle McPherson and the like to help put us on the map so to speak, and we still have a very long way to go. Even great music talents here often take years to break into the American music markets. I'm sure it's exactly the same with Danish talents.
Anyway, just my two cents worth.
Jodi
