Hey, I'm not independently wealthy like some around here - you know, Pat B, Kevin G and the sort.
But it's like that scene between Joe Pesci and Chris Rock in one of those Lethal Weapon flicks where they are talking about getting *uc&%d by the cel phone companies -
First it was LPs, then replace your collection with 8-tracks, then cassettes, then cds, then sacd, then DVD sacd (or whatever the hell that is) and now we are up to things like iPods....where will it end? Chip implantation into one's head? Or, here is ten bonus minutes of Bruce Springsteen farting and burping and with it, you get the best of the greatest hits from the best of Bruce Springsteen (I just read in Rolling Stone that they are going to re-release the Springsteen Plugged session from MTV - with a bonus song!!).
One last goofy thing to consider - we are now purchasing things like DVDs and CDs with earlier deleted stuff - in other words, the lack of quality garbage that didn't make the final cut the first time and we don't even seem to care that there probably was a good reason the previously cut item was cut in the first place. (It's like we say in my occupation, "slap the word "police" on something and then jack up the price 200 percent and you have a buch of idiots happily buying it.")
Well, enough of this rant for the day.....(the new NIN Downward Spiral up coming release brought this on....it's full of *new* stuff....)
