One thing that makes comparisons so hard to make is that without being there it's hard to figure out what country has the better system.  I still can't figure out a good comparison between the US and Canada - for example, who gets the better value. 

One area that is interesting to me is that of preventative medicine and the cost savings that could be reaped if a true preventative system was really examined here in the US.  But I think the part that stops this is that of the interests of the insurance companies, health care industries and pharmacutical companies.  I'm not saying they conspire to make people sick or not heal them, but they do benefit from the current system in the US.
