Frank (from the NYT) is becoming one of my favorite observers of contemporary American culture. Now I realize that using the words "American" and "culture" may seem like an oxymoron to some but remember- even a Petrie dish has culture and the word "culture" probably comes from the root "cult" which seems to denote a slavish, unthinking devotion to a demogogic personality. So there you go; I rest my case. Now read this:
