Absence of evidence does not imply evidence of absence. And there's plenty of evidence.
Fossil records are very accurate as far as skeletal structure is concerned. The links between man's evolution from Apes may only be gleaned from finding out how the skeletal structure departed from species like Australopithecus and Neanderthal, and at what point in time. Clearly it is not known, but the clues seem to be there. My fascination lies with how the human brain developed sufficiently to initiate language, ultimately to give us our greatest gift: thought.
