I didn't know that Sponge Bob had a big following in the gay community until around Christmas time I was at a party and my wife was talking to a friend who also teaches and they were discussing Sponge and Harry Potter...when this conservative businessman I know from New York chimes in (having had a bit too much to drink perhaps) "All the queers down in Manhattan love that show. I didn't know it was a show for kids!"
