Reg, you are, as usual, right. And it's not just the pencil pushers and number crunchers. What's the real cost of those nice clothes we wear, those diamond rings we give our loved ones, and that gas we pour into the family Humvee? We get a good deal on a lot of our crap because somebody else doesn't.
All of our conspicuous consumption is just that: conspicuous. People around the world see how much of the resources we consume and how fat we've become recently... and how fucking moody and entitled we've become. It pisses 'em off. Hell, it pisses me off.
Oops. I'm outa chips and down to my last three beers. Gotta go!
