great grey owls
Hey Reg - are you getting any of the great grey owls coming down from Canada? I'm on my way "up nort" to see them.
They apparently rarely come down to the US - I've talked to naturalists that have only seen one or two in a typical year. This year there are reports of 30+ sightings a day. The reason for the migration is that rodent populations are down in Canada - I think they all dove off a cliff ala lemmings once the NHL season was cancelled.
