I'm assuming Mr. Google did indeed clarify the reasoning behind the name UK Squeeze, but if not (and for others who might be wondering)...
The "UK" prefix was added for Squeeze's U.S. label debut, at insistence of the execs, to differentiate Difford & Tillbrook's band from an existing American group called Tight Squeeze. The prefix was later dropped (presumably, because Tight Squeeze poofed).
