Dailykos.com is reporting that CBS radio is reporting that Col David Hackworth has passed on. For those who do not know of Hackworth, Hackworth was the epitome of the troops come first. He wrote some very good books, one of them, Steel My Soldiers' Heart. For those who have been in the military, it is common knowledge when you have people who retire at certain ranks like that of Captain, Major, Lt. Col or Col, it is because of two things - he or she got in some idiotic trouble or the person was full of honor and took no bullshit from anyone. Hackworth was of the latter type. If we had more like him in this country, we would not have anywhere near the problems we do. Pick up a copy of Steel My Soldiers' Heard and you'll understand why. http://dailykos.com/story/2005/5/5/145444/0464
