The answer lies within...just kidding. No, Michael, I am not trying to be cryptic.  You will note of the former Byrd bandmembers listed, two have gone to the happy hunting ground of their ancestors, and one lives with a new liver (and I think also a new lover..somewhere in Southern California).  The "Byrd" in question, and my source of very exact info lives in a nice little hamlet in Northern California (like many refuge seekers from LA, city of the damned...),  and is in contact from time to time with a dear friend of mine, who works with his wife.

In a private Email to you, which I shall attempt shortly, I can discuss more.

Are you and Kathryn, the only Australians on the DB board, or are there more???   Reveal yourselves..please!!  I want to visit your grand country sometime, and check you guys out.

P.S.  Michael, if you do like Byrds...there is a NEW live Byrds CD, entitled Live at Fillmore, just released on Sony Relics or some such label.  Anyhow, it does capture their late 60's sound around the time of Dr.Byrds and Mr.Hyde, and Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Nice raw, country raga-style riffs from Mr. Clarence White, Gene Parsons on drums, harmonica, voice , John York bass, and Mr. McGuinn holding his "own", I believe.  I can burn if you don't have it available there, but it is a fairly commerical release, so if you are interested, it is probably in stores in NSW.
